There are many fun things to do at
Little Lambs Childcare Center. During the year we
have our regular program that we seek to enhance
with field trips and theme related activities.►Our Four Year Old
Class makes a fall and spring trip to the Kalamazoo
Public Library for their Music and Make Believe
Program. What a fantastic way to be introduced to
some classical music and the instruments that make that
music. ►The Fours also go
to the State Theater in April to see a play
sponsored by the American Theater Arts for Youth,
Inc. ►The Kalamazoo
Valley Museum offers a wide range of hands on
activities for preschoolers.
►Grandparents Day in September gives
grandparents a chance to spend a couple of hours
with their grandchild(ren) here at the center. They
eat lunch together, share a special dessert made by
the children, then break
off into the different areas for some
free play!!►November sees the
Fours preparing a full course Thanksgiving Dinner
for them and their
parents. Fine dining at Little Lambs, complete with
fancy dinnerware and a special Thanksgiving Prayer
written by the children.
►December has us celebrating the
birth of Jesus. We also adopt a family, purchase
presents for them and share the true meaning of
Christmas with the family.►Dental
Health in February has a visit by the KVCC Dental
Hygiene Students enriching our curriculum.►The children
always enjoy our Fire Safety Week as the fire truck
comes along with a police car!! We also participate
in the Fire Escape
Program, which gives the children a realistic sense
of escaping from a
fire.
►Spring into spring and summer as we
plant a vegetable garden
and then enjoy the bountiful harvest
at lunch. We also have our annual St. Jude's Trike-A-Thon
to help children with cancer.
►Did someone say camping – yes, we
have a camping unit
and we grill hot dogs on a stick,
make s’mores, have a watermelon seed spitting
contest and then take our naps outside in tents!!
►We love a parade – look for us the
first week in July marching
to Dairy Queen- we have marching band
music, flags, patriotic streamers and T-Shirts as we
celebrate the birthday of our
great nation.
